Frequently asked questions

Ceven uses a secure token based system to connect to Proofly. When you authorize the integration, Proofly provides a secure token that Ceven stores in an encrypted vault. This token allows the agent to make requests on your behalf without ever needing your raw password. You can revoke this access at any time through your Proofly account settings, which will immediately stop all Ceven workflows from accessing your data. We follow strict security protocols to ensure that your customer activity logs remain private and are only accessed when a specific workflow trigger is met by the agent.
Currently, the Proofly API is primarily read focused for campaign management. Ceven can retrieve your list of campaigns and check their status or activity, but it cannot programmatically create a brand new campaign from scratch or design the visual template. You must create the campaign and its design within the Proofly dashboard first. Once the campaign exists, Ceven can monitor its performance, track the activity logs it generates, and use that data to trigger other actions in your marketing stack like sending an alert to your team when a campaign hits a certain milestone.
Yes, Ceven is subject to the API rate limits imposed by Proofly. Depending on your Proofly subscription tier, there is a cap on how many requests can be made per minute. If you have a very high volume of activity and a lower tier plan, you might encounter a rate limit error. Ceven handles this by implementing an automatic retry logic with exponential backoff. This means the agent will pause and try again after a short delay rather than failing the workflow. For enterprise accounts with massive traffic, we recommend scheduling heavy log pulls during off peak hours.
Ceven acts as a conduit between Proofly and your other tools. While the agent processes the activity logs to execute your workflows, we do not maintain a permanent database of your Proofly customer events. The data lives in Proofly and is passed to your destination tool, such as a CRM or a spreadsheet, in real time. If you delete a log in Proofly, it will not be available for future Ceven pulls. This approach ensures that you maintain full control over your data residency and compliance requirements without creating redundant copies of sensitive customer information.
Absolutely. You can set up a workflow where Ceven polls the Proofly activity logs every hour and appends any new customer events to a specific Google Sheet. This is a common use case for teams that want to build a custom dashboard of their social proof performance without manually exporting CSV files. The agent can filter the logs so only specific event types, such as high value purchases or sign ups, are sent to the sheet, keeping your reporting clean and focused on the metrics that actually drive your business growth.
The refresh rate depends on how you configure your workflow trigger. If you set a schedule, Ceven will pull the latest campaign state at that exact interval. If you use a webhook or an event based trigger from another tool, the pull happens in real time. Because Proofly updates its logs quickly, the agent can provide a very accurate picture of what is happening on your site. We recommend a fifteen minute interval for most users to balance the need for fresh data with the API rate limits of your specific Proofly plan.
If the connection between Ceven and Proofly is severed, any active workflows that rely on Proofly data will enter a paused state. You will receive an immediate notification via email and within the Ceven dashboard alerting you that the integration needs reauthorization. Once you reconnect the account and refresh the token, the agent will automatically resume the workflows. Any data that was missed during the downtime can be recovered by running a manual backfill request for the activity logs covering the period when the connection was inactive.
