Frequently asked questions

Ceven connects via the Wix MCP which leverages the Wix API. You will be prompted to authorize the connection through the Wix account owner portal. Once you grant the required permissions, Ceven receives a secure token that allows the agent to read and write data to your store, bookings, and CMS. We do not store your main account password. The connection is managed through the official Wix app ecosystem, meaning you can see exactly what permissions the agent has and you can revoke access instantly from your Wix dashboard settings if you ever want to disconnect the workflow.
Yes, Ceven can iterate through your product list and apply updates. However, you should be aware of the Wix API rate limits which can throttle requests if you try to update thousands of products in a single second. To handle this, Ceven implements an automatic retry logic and queues requests to ensure your site remains stable. For very large catalogs, we recommend scheduling the update during off peak hours. The agent will provide a progress report showing how many items were updated and if any specific products failed due to validation errors.
The agent has full access to the Wix Bookings API. It can pull existing appointments to check for conflicts, create new bookings on behalf of customers, and cancel or reschedule existing ones. This is particularly useful for creating a natural language interface for your scheduling. For example, you can tell the agent to move all of tomorrow morning bookings to Friday afternoon, and it will execute those changes one by one in Wix and then notify the affected clients via your preferred communication channel.
Ceven can interact with your Wix CMS to read and update page content. This allows you to build workflows where external data triggers site updates. If you run a store where prices change based on a market feed, the agent can pull that feed and update the corresponding Wix CMS fields automatically. This eliminates the need to manually enter data into the Wix editor. You can also use the agent to draft new blog posts or update team member bios across multiple pages simultaneously.
Security is handled through industry standard OAuth protocols. When Ceven accesses your Wix contacts or orders, the data is encrypted in transit using TLS and is never stored permanently within the model training set. We use the data only to execute the specific workflow you have designed. Access is scoped to the permissions you approved during the setup process. If you restrict the agent to read only access, it will be unable to modify any customer records or change order statuses regardless of the prompt.
While Ceven cannot directly trigger the internal Wix email marketing templates, it can update a customer field or add a tag in Wix that triggers a Wix Automation. Alternatively, the agent can use a separate email tool like Mailchimp or SendGrid to send the message. The common pattern is to have the agent update the customer status in Wix to Paid, which then triggers the native Wix email, while the agent simultaneously logs the transaction in your accounting software for a complete end to end flow.
Ceven uses a robust error handling system for all Wix MCP calls. If a call fails due to a temporary network issue or a rate limit, the agent will attempt to retry the request using an exponential backoff strategy. If the failure is due to a permanent error, such as an invalid product ID or a permission restriction, the agent will stop the workflow and notify you with a specific error message. You can then correct the data in Wix or adjust the workflow logic and restart the process from the point of failure.
The current integration focuses on orders, products, and customers. While the agent can read order totals and see which coupons were applied to a past purchase, it cannot create new coupon codes or modify discount rules within the Wix Store dashboard. To manage promotions, you will still need to use the Wix dashboard. However, the agent can monitor for orders that used a specific discount code and then trigger a follow up survey or a special thank you message through your CRM to track the effectiveness of the campaign.
