Frequently asked questions

Ceven interacts with Laposta custom fields by first reading the available field definitions for a specific list. When you tell the agent to update a subscriber, it checks if the field exists and matches the required data type, such as text or date. If the field is missing, the agent can use the Create Custom Field action to build it before pushing the data. This ensures that your subscriber profiles remain consistent across different lists and that no data is lost due to schema mismatches during a sync. You can define these fields manually in Laposta or let the agent manage them through a workflow.
Yes. Because Ceven has access to both Create Member and Delete Member actions, you can build a workflow that moves a user based on a trigger. For example, if a user marks a project as complete in your app, the agent can delete them from the Onboarding list and add them to the Customer Success list. This keeps your segments clean and ensures users only receive emails relevant to their current stage in your funnel. The agent handles the ID mapping between lists to ensure the correct email address is moved every time.
You must be very careful here because modifying a data type in Laposta permanently removes all existing data within that field. If the agent is tasked with updating a field, it will typically only change the display name or required status. If you explicitly command the agent to change a data type, it will proceed, but the resulting data loss is irreversible. We recommend creating a new custom field and migrating data via a Ceven workflow if you need to change how a piece of subscriber information is stored for your newsletters.
The agent uses the Get All Campaign Reports tool to pull raw metrics including open rates, click through rates, and bounce counts. Instead of you checking the dashboard daily, you can set up a workflow where Ceven pulls these stats every Monday morning. The agent then analyzes the numbers against your previous three campaigns to determine if the current performance is an outlier. It can then post a summary to your team chat or update a Google Sheet, allowing you to track long term trends without leaving your primary workspace.
Absolutely. Ceven can create and manage webhooks within your Laposta account. When a subscriber event occurs, such as a new sign up or an unsubscribe, Laposta sends a notification to the webhook URL. Ceven listens for these events and can trigger immediate downstream actions. For instance, when someone unsubscribes in Laposta, the agent can instantly update their preference center in your main database. This prevents your sales team from reaching out to people who have already opted out of your marketing communications.
Laposta enforces rate limits on their API to ensure platform stability. If a Ceven workflow attempts to update thousands of members in a very short window, you may encounter 429 Too Many Requests errors. To handle this, Ceven implements an automatic retry logic with exponential backoff. This means the agent will pause and slowly retry the request until it succeeds. For extremely large list migrations, we recommend scheduling the workflow to run in smaller batches over several hours to avoid hitting these limits and ensuring a smooth data transfer.
Ceven can retrieve existing segments and manage the members within them by updating member attributes that trigger segment rules in Laposta. While the API focuses heavily on member and list management, the agent can effectively control who falls into which segment by modifying the custom fields that your Laposta segments rely on. For example, if you have a segment for users in Amsterdam, the agent simply updates the city field to Amsterdam for that member, and Laposta automatically places them in the correct segment for your next targeted newsletter.
The agent uses the Delete Member tool to remove subscribers. This is a permanent action and cannot be undone within the Laposta interface. To prevent accidental deletions, you can configure your Ceven workflow to require a human sign off before the delete action is triggered for lists with a large number of members. The agent can also be programmed to archive the member data to a backup sheet before removing them from Laposta, ensuring you keep a record of your historical audience for auditing purposes.
