Frequently asked questions

Ceven uses the search leads action to verify if an email address already exists in your Persistiq account before attempting to add a new lead. If the agent finds a match, it will update the existing record with any new information instead of creating a duplicate. This prevents the same prospect from being enrolled in multiple competing sequences at once. You can configure the workflow to either skip the lead entirely or move them from an old campaign into a new one based on your specific business rules for lead rotation.
Yes. Ceven can monitor any tool you have connected and use that as a trigger to call the add lead to campaign action in Persistiq. For example, if a user fills out a Typeform or hits a specific page on your website, Ceven can instantly push that contact into a Persistiq sequence. This removes the need for manual CSV uploads and ensures that your outreach happens while the prospect is still thinking about your product, which significantly increases the chance of a positive response.
Persistiq tracks unsubscribe events internally. When Ceven pulls lead details or event history, it sees the opt out status. You can build a workflow that listens for these changes and automatically marks the lead as opted out in your master CRM or marketing database. This ensures that you remain compliant with email regulations and that your sales team does not accidentally reach out to someone who has explicitly asked to be removed from your mailing lists.
Ceven can use the create new campaign action to define the structure of a sequence. However, for complex sequences with many variables and timing nuances, we recommend building the template in the Persistiq dashboard first. Once the template exists, Ceven can manage the enrollment, movement, and monitoring of leads within that template. This gives you the best of both worlds by combining a visual editor for creative work with AI driven automation for the operational execution.
Yes. Persistiq enforces strict rate limits on their API to prevent spam and ensure platform stability. If a Ceven workflow attempts to push thousands of leads in a single burst, you may encounter 429 too many requests errors. To handle this, Ceven implements an automatic retry logic with exponential backoff. For very large migrations, we recommend scheduling the lead injection over several hours rather than all at once to avoid hitting these limits and risking a temporary API lockout.
Ceven can see the campaign structure and the templates associated with a sequence, but it does not monitor the outgoing mail server in real time. To track what was actually sent, Ceven pulls the lead event history. This tells the agent that an email was delivered or opened, but not the exact rendered text of the email. If you need to analyze the content of a response, Ceven does that by monitoring your connected email inbox rather than querying the Persistiq API.
Ceven manages segmentation by using the update lead information action to tag leads with specific metadata. By assigning custom attributes to a lead, you can then use Persistiq filters to ensure they only receive the content relevant to their segment. The agent can dynamically change these attributes based on behavior. For instance, if a lead clicks a link about pricing, Ceven can update their attribute to high intent, which could trigger a move into a more aggressive closing sequence.
Ceven does not send emails directly; it only instructs Persistiq to do so. Persistiq handles the actual delivery and manages the sending reputation of your connected email accounts. To keep your deliverability high, we recommend using the Ceven agent to stagger lead enrollments. By avoiding massive spikes in volume, you mimic human behavior more closely, which helps prevent your email service provider from flagging your account for suspicious activity or marking your messages as spam.
