Frequently asked questions

Ceven connects to Dotsimple using a secure token based system. You provide the necessary authorization through your Dotsimple account settings, which grants the agent permission to read your accounts and write posts. We store these credentials in an encrypted vault and never expose them to the large language model. Every request made by the agent includes the token in the header to ensure that only authorized actions are performed on your social profiles. You can revoke this access at any time from your account settings, which immediately stops all automated workflows.
Ceven can manage the assets and tags within the Dotsimple workspace, such as deleting media files or tags. However, the current integration focuses on workspace organization and scheduling. If you need to remove a post that has already been published to a live social platform, you must do that through the Dotsimple dashboard or the native platform interface. The agent can identify which posts should be deleted by analyzing performance reports, but it will flag them for your review rather than deleting live public content automatically.
Dotsimple enforces specific API rate limits based on your subscription tier. If a Ceven workflow attempts to list thousands of posts or upload hundreds of media files in a few seconds, you may encounter a rate limit error. To handle this, Ceven implements an exponential backoff strategy, meaning the agent will pause and retry the request after a short delay. For very large accounts, we recommend scheduling bulk media cleanups or report aggregations during off peak hours to avoid hitting these limits and ensuring smooth execution.
No, the agent cannot create new social media accounts or perform the initial OAuth handshake between Dotsimple and platforms like Facebook or X. You must manually connect your social profiles within the Dotsimple dashboard first. Once the accounts are linked and visible in the List Accounts call, Ceven can then manage the content, tags, and reports associated with those accounts. This ensures that the sensitive process of granting platform permissions remains entirely under your direct control.
Ceven can interact with all media files that Dotsimple supports via its API. This includes images and videos used for posts. The agent can list these files, retrieve their metadata, and delete them. When you use a workflow to schedule content, the agent references the media file ID already present in your Dotsimple library. If you need to upload new files, you should do so through the Dotsimple interface first, and then the agent can find and assign them to your scheduled posts.
The agent first calls the List Reports tool to pull engagement data for your recent posts. It then compares these metrics against a threshold you define, such as a specific like count or share rate. For every post that exceeds the threshold, the agent checks if a success tag exists using List Tags. If the tag is missing, it uses Create Tag to build it. Finally, it applies that tag to the post, allowing you to filter for high performing content later within the Dotsimple interface.
Ceven can currently list your autoresponders to help you audit your automated messaging strategy. It can pull the list of active responders and their configurations so you can review them in a report. However, the ability to create or edit the actual logic of an autoresponder is limited by the current API scope. Use the agent to monitor which responders are active and then jump into the Dotsimple dashboard to make fine grained changes to the response text or trigger conditions.
While Dotsimple allows for a large number of tags, we recommend keeping your taxonomy clean for better AI performance. If you have thousands of tags, the List Tags action may take longer to process or require multiple pagination calls. Ceven handles this pagination automatically, but for the best results, use the agent to periodically audit your tags and delete those that are no longer used. This keeps your workspace organized and ensures that the agent can quickly find the right category for new content.
