Frequently asked questions

Ceven monitors your LeadIQ credit balance through the Get Contact Tracking Balance tool before initiating high volume searches. If a workflow is designed to enrich a large list of leads, the agent first checks if enough credits exist to complete the batch. If the balance is too low, Ceven can be configured to send a Slack notification to the admin or pause the workflow entirely to prevent partial imports. This prevents your sales sequences from stalling halfway through a campaign due to an unexpected credit exhaustion. You can set a minimum threshold in the workflow settings so the agent stops working before you hit zero.
Yes. When your email tool reports a hard bounce for a LeadIQ enriched contact, Ceven can automatically trigger the Submit Person Feedback action. The agent sends the invalid reason back to LeadIQ, which helps improve the overall data quality of the platform for your account. This creates a self cleaning database where every bounce in your CRM informs the source data. You can set this up as a background event so your sales team never has to manually report a bad email address. It ensures that future searches for similar personas are more accurate over time.
Flat Advanced Search returns a simple list of individuals who match your criteria, which is best for high volume lead generation where the specific company is less important than the persona. Search Grouped Advanced organizes results by company first, then lists the matching people within those companies. Use Grouped search when you are running an account based strategy and need to identify multiple stakeholders within a single organization. Ceven can process these differently, either pushing individual leads into a sequence or creating a company folder in your CRM and nesting the contacts underneath it.
Ceven handles imports by iterating through search results and mapping them to your destination system. If an import batch becomes redundant or contains the wrong filters, you can use the Abandon Import Batch action via a Ceven command to stop the process immediately. This is useful when a user accidentally launches a search for a common job title that returns thousands of irrelevant results. By abandoning the batch, you save your API credits and prevent your CRM from being flooded with low quality leads. The agent can also be told to monitor batch progress and alert you when it finishes.
Yes. LeadIQ enforces strict rate limits and tier gating based on your subscription plan. For example, certain advanced filters or high volume search endpoints are only available on higher tiers. If Ceven attempts an action that your current plan does not support, LeadIQ will return a permission error. Ceven captures these errors and translates them into human readable messages, telling you exactly which plan upgrade is needed to enable that specific workflow. Additionally, rapid fire requests in a tight loop may trigger a rate limit, so Ceven automatically implements a retry logic with exponential backoff to ensure your data flows smoothly.
LeadIQ focuses on professional B2B data, meaning it provides work emails and business phone numbers. It does not provide personal email addresses like Gmail or Yahoo. When Ceven pulls a contact record, it will prioritize the verified professional email. If a workflow requires a personal email for a specific campaign, you will need to integrate an additional tool designed for consumer data. Ceven can chain these tools together, using LeadIQ for the professional profile and another provider for the personal contact details, merging them into a single record before pushing it to your CRM.
The Search Company action allows Ceven to find a firm using a domain or LinkedIn URL. Once the company is identified, Ceven can pull the firmographic data, such as company size, industry, and headquarters location. This is often used as a filter step in a larger workflow. For instance, the agent can search for a company, check if the employee count is over five hundred, and only then proceed to search for the VP of Sales. This ensures you are not spending credits on leads that do not fit your ideal customer profile, making your prospecting budget much more efficient.
Ceven treats your LeadIQ data as transient. When the agent pulls contact information, it is used to execute the specific step of your workflow, such as updating a CRM record or sending an email. We do not store a permanent copy of the LeadIQ database within our own systems. All API communication is encrypted using industry standard protocols. You can control exactly what data is moved by defining the mapping in the workflow editor. If you want to stop all data flow, you can revoke the API access from your LeadIQ settings, which immediately cuts off Ceven's ability to make requests.
