Frequently asked questions

Ceven uses the unique user identifier you have already mapped within Beamer. When the agent calls the Get Notifications or Get Post Reactions endpoints, it passes the user ID provided in the workflow context. This ensures that the agent only accesses notifications and reactions relevant to that specific user. If the user ID is missing from your CRM or database, the agent can be configured to search for the user by email first, provided you have a mapping layer in place. This allows the agent to connect Beamer engagement data directly to your existing customer records without creating duplicate profiles.
The current integration focuses on reading engagement and managing delivery. While the agent can pull posts, count them, and retrieve URLs, it does not currently support the full creation of post content via the API. You should continue to use the Beamer dashboard to craft your announcements and design your layouts. Once the post is live, Ceven takes over by monitoring the reactions, pulling the comments, and triggering downstream workflows based on how your users interact with that content. This ensures your brand voice and visual formatting remain consistent through the native Beamer editor.
Ceven respects the standard Beamer API rate limits which are tied to your Beamer subscription tier. If you have a large volume of users and run a workflow that fetches notifications for thousands of people at once, you may hit a 429 Too Many Requests error. To prevent this, Ceven implements an internal queuing system that staggers API calls. However, be aware that very aggressive polling of the Get Post Reactions endpoint during a major product launch could still trigger a temporary throttle from Beamer. We recommend using event based triggers rather than high frequency polling.
Yes. By using the Get Feed URL action, the agent can request a personalized URL based on the segmentation criteria you have defined in your Beamer settings. When a user logs into your app, the agent can pull their specific segment from your database and request the corresponding Beamer feed URL. This allows you to show different feature updates to beta testers versus general availability users. The agent simply acts as the bridge that passes the correct parameters to Beamer to ensure the user sees the right content at the right time.
Ceven does not store a permanent database of your Beamer posts or notifications. Instead, it fetches the data in real time from the Beamer API whenever a workflow is triggered. If you need to keep a historical record of user reactions or comments for long term analysis, you can set up a workflow that pushes that data into a data warehouse like BigQuery or Snowflake the moment it is retrieved. This approach ensures that Beamer remains the source of truth while giving you the ability to archive data for your own business intelligence needs.
The agent utilizes the language parameters available in the Get Feed URL endpoint. If your user profile in your CRM specifies a preferred language, the Ceven agent can pass that language code to Beamer to retrieve the correctly localized feed. This ensures that your global users receive updates in their native tongue without you having to build separate workflows for every region. The agent handles the logic of mapping your internal language codes to the format Beamer expects, making the delivery process seamless across different geographic markets.
Absolutely. You can build a workflow where the agent periodically calls Get Post Reactions and filters for specific reaction types that indicate frustration or confusion. When the agent detects a spike in these reactions, it can trigger an immediate alert in Slack or PagerDuty for your product team. You can even have the agent pull the last five comments from that post using Get Post Comments to provide the team with immediate context on why users are unhappy, allowing you to address the issue before it becomes a widespread problem.
